Copper Kettle Brewing Wins Gold
Copper Kettle Brewing, a small brewery in Millbrook, won the gold medal at the National Craft Beer Awards on Saturday for its amber ale "Harvest Moon." The brewery, founded six years ago by Jim and Sara Ortiz, beat more than 900 entries from across the country.
"We make beer the way we like it: simple and balanced," said Mr. Ortiz. Demand has already increased, and orders from restaurants have doubled since the announcement. To meet demand, the Ortizes plan to buy a second fermentation tank and hire two additional employees.
Harvest Moon is currently sold only within the state, but the Ortizes said they are in talks with a national distributor.
