Northern Rail to Introduce "Quiet Cars"
Northern Rail will introduce "quiet cars" on its morning and evening commuter trains beginning March 18, the company announced Wednesday. Passengers in the designated cars will be asked to avoid phone calls, keep conversations brief and quiet, and use headphones for any audio.
The company said the idea came from passenger surveys, in which 62 percent of respondents named noise as their main complaint. Quiet cars will be marked with blue signs and located at the rear of each train.
Conductors will remind passengers of the rules but will not issue fines. "This is a courtesy, not a regulation," said spokesperson Dana Fox. The company will review the program after six months.
Notice of Course Cancellation
Dear students,
Because of low enrollment, the Tuesday evening Pottery Basics course has been canceled. If you registered for this course, you have two options. You may transfer to the Thursday evening class, which still has openings, or you may receive a full refund within ten days. Materials kits that have already been purchased may be returned for a refund if they are unopened.
Please contact the registrar by April 5 to tell us your choice.

Kestrel Logistics Celebrates 15 Years
Kestrel Logistics, a delivery company founded in 2009 by former college roommates Alan Cho and Mark Dunn, celebrated its fifteenth anniversary on Friday. Starting with two vans and five employees, the company now operates a fleet of 140 vehicles and employs more than 400 people.
It specializes in delivering fresh food to restaurants and grocery stores within a 200-kilometer radius. Mr. Cho credits the company's growth to its focus on reliability. "Our promise has always been simple: we arrive when we say we will," he said.
Next year, Kestrel plans to open a second distribution center in Dayton and begin deliveries in two additional states. The company was named Regional Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in March.
