Maple Grove Hospital Launches Telehealth Program
Maple Grove Hospital has launched a telehealth program that allows patients to consult doctors by video from their homes. Available at first for follow-up visits and minor illnesses, the service is expected to cut waiting times, hospital officials said.
Patients can book appointments through the hospital's mobile app, and most insurance plans will cover the visits at the same rate as in-person care. Dr. Samuel Okoye, who led the program's development, said patients in rural areas who previously traveled more than an hour for appointments will benefit most. Patients with serious conditions will still need to visit the hospital in person, he added.
The hospital plans to extend the program to include mental health counseling by the end of the year.

All managers must complete the 90-minute online course on harassment prevention by June 28. To begin, log in to the learning portal with your employee ID.
The course has five modules, and you may pause and resume at any time. At the end, there is a quiz that requires a score of at least 80 percent to pass. You may retake the quiz as many times as necessary.
Managers who have not completed the course by the deadline will be unable to approve timesheets until they do. Certificates are recorded automatically.
Inventor's Corner: Sofia Lindqvist
Sofia Lindqvist, a former packaging engineer, has developed a reusable shipping box made from recycled plastic that folds flat for return. After five years of work, financed by her own savings, she began selling the boxes to online retailers this spring.
Each box lasts for at least 100 uses, and Ms. Lindqvist estimates that it replaces 100 cardboard boxes. Three retailers have placed orders, and a fourth is testing samples.
The biggest challenge, she says, is persuading customers to mail the empty boxes back. "We offer a $2 credit for each box returned," she said. She hopes to employ ten people by the end of next year.
